FBI GreenDot MoneyPak virus - how to unlock your desktop

Oct. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- We warn you of a serious ransomware infection that nowadays attacks thousands if not millions of PCs worldwide, but especially this happens at the territory of the United States of America and Canada. This infection is often referred to as FBI Greendot MoneyPak ransowmare that locks the computer and asks for a certain amount of ransom to be paid in favor of its developers.

The ransomware has another well-known scary statement that says "Your computer has been locked". The message says that that system was blocked by the Federal Bureau of Investigation for committing various crimes, in particular, for downloading, keeping and distibuting various copies of audio and video samples, software, etc. Sometimes the locker accuses users of performing other crimes online, such as watching extremely explicit content over the Internet, sending unsolicited spam to various addressess, supporting terrorist activities and performing other crimes online. When you don't realize that this locker isn't of the FBI then surely you might be scared to death with this unpredictable warning.

Why do some users speak of this computer locker as FBI Greendot MoneyPak virus? Well, there's a reason for this, of course. Hackers instruct users to effect the payment of fine (forfeit or penalty) in favor of the crooks via GreenDot MoneyPak system. They want users to specify certain finaicial information (PIN or voucher code) in the respective field inside of the ransomware's message, or to send such information in the email addressed to fine@fbi.gov. By the way, this is a fraudulent yet real email address that you should stay away from.

This is the way how hackers today become richer. They simply deceive users by tricking and scaring them with the above-mentioned information. However, there's nothing to be worried about. You just need to know that this is not a real FBI warning, but rather a serious virus that can be overcome. You simply need to find the right method of unlocking your screen from this locker. Please find the good removal guide in the link below. Hopefully, this will resolve your problem effectively.
