Autumn is a great time of year to visit the New Forest
-- Autumn is one of the best times of year to visit the New Forest; the leaves on the trees burst into fiery orange and red colours, the ‘pannage’ pigs are roaming around eating the acorns that are poisonous to the ponies, the cosy pubs start to light their log fires, and accommodation prices drop significantly following the summer months.
Little Paddock – a collection of 9 Scandinavian-
style cosy wooden lodges, located on the borders of the New Forest National Park and Avon Country Park – is offering four nights for the price of three on selected lodges from now until mid- December (£128 pp).
The location of Little Paddock makes it ideal for autumnal walks with a loved one, or two (one lodge is dog friendly so the family pet can play gooseberry!), and it is adult-only so it is ideal for those who want to get away from the kids for a peaceful, long weekend (the complex is also popular with schoolteachers seeking solace!).
Each lodge is designed for just two people and fully-equipped for self-catering. However the Jones’s who own and run Little Paddock, will also happily source a freshly prepared meal from a local chef, which can then be cooked at leisure together with a glass of something special.
Little Paddock also has 2 hot tubs and a tennis court, and the New Forest’s villages with their wide choice of pubs and restaurants are just a short drive, or bike ride, away.
of-three offer works out from just £128 pp (two sharing a lodge).
