This kind of management process engages establishing and maintaining an agreement with the customer on the requirements for the software project. This is an agreement which covers both the technical and non-technical requirements. At each stage of a  development process in an organization, there are key requirements management activities and methods involved.  Requirement Management Tools try to maintain a  standard five-phase development process with Investigation, Feasibility, Design, Construction and Test, and Release stages.  Investigation employs utilization of gathering information from the users, from the business and from the development team.  As requirements cannot be defined at the beginning of the project, also requirements change while other simply cannot be extracted, due to   internal or external forces at work affect the project in mid-cycle.  Many organizations use only documents to manage requirements, others manage their requirements basics of using Software Tools. These are tools that enable the requirements to be managed in a database, and have functions to automate traceability.

Feasibility is yet another important stage of among the Requirement Management Tools.  In this stage, costs of the requirements are determined which also involves for the user requirements, the current cost of work is compared to the potential projected costs once the new system is in place.  Several technical costs are related to software development costs and hardware costs.  Thus the deliverable from the Feasibility stage includes the budget and schedule for the project. Other important   requirement management component include Design stage where the main requirements management activity is compared to  the results of the design against the requirements document to make sure that work is staying in scope. The final stage is the construction and testing stage, which is considered to be main activity of requirements management and ensure  work and cost stay within schedule and budget. This further utilizes the emerging tool that does in fact meet requirements.
