2013 Calendars and Framed Prints Support Breast and Ovarian Cancer Research
October 5, 2012,– Long Beach, NY,  Maureenc.com, (www.maureenc.com) purveyor of positively inspired paintings, creative gifts and random thoughts, has announced that the 2013 Happy Destiny Calendars are now ready for purchase.  Maureenc.com was inspired and created to bring awareness to these specific very special causes and to all those that deserve a “fighting chance.”

Every year, maureenc.com owner and artist Maureen Cronin creates artwork with inspired thoughts for every month of the coming year, plus a bonus month. (Each year one of her nieces or nephews selects a month to paint as well.) She donates 20% of the proceeds from every sale to support breast and ovarian cancer research, a tribute to her best friend, Suzan Conk, who died of breast cancer in 1999, and in honor of another friend, who survived ovarian cancer.

“I believe we are all connected, but that connection sometimes needs a boost and awareness,” says Cronin. “If we can connect on an emotional level, the battle is won.”  Cronin also believes that bringing people together through awareness and contributions save lives and eventually will contribute to winning the war on these cancers. “I want my artwork to make people feel something good and be a reminder that we need to help each other, whether it’s a framed print, the year’s calendar or to just volunteer your time”.

Her artisan skills combined with her sincere commitment to support Breast and Ovarian cancer make this a very unique woman owned company a part of the solution.
Proprietor Maureen Cronin was born and raised in Rockville Centre, NY. Maureenc.com is based in Long Beach, NY. Artwork is sold on the company website, www.maureenc.com. Calendars are $15 each and the framed prints are $20. Funny, touching and inspiring sayings dot the original artwork, all by Cronin, and include bon mots such as “Happily ever after needs everyday practice” and “There’s nothing better for an old story than a new person” and “Every rose…has to go through layers of dirt and muck to blossom and be glorious.” She dedicates the month of March with “something Irish” in honor of her father, who passed in 2010.  

“The framed prints are usually are a big hit because they make such unique gifts, and the more I sell, the more I can give the more I can give to research,” adds Cronin. Maureenc.com was established in 2003 as a means of providing research monies to support breast cancer research. After losing her good friend to breast cancer, Maureen Cronin wrote a novel, Go Faster Go: Memoir of a Friend based on her experience, their journey together as friends, and life lessons learned along the way.  Maureen and friend Suzan Conk began painting together through one of the programs at Sloan Kettering while Suzan was being treated, and it ignited a long time passion of Cronin’s.
