| Producer and Director of Popular Miami Based Documentary Host Free Lecture in South BeachProducer and Director from the documentary "Cocaine Cowboys" talk about how drugs impacted Miami Beach's History.
MDPL returns for its third lecture of the series on October 24, 2012 with the director and producer of Cocaine Cowboys, the film that explored the rise of cocaine and resulting crime epidemic that swept Miami in the 1970s and 1980s. Specifically, the guest speakers will discuss how drugs made an impact on Miami Beach and how illegal cocaine money transformed Miami into the city we know today. “So far the guest speakers have left the audience in amazement, I can’t wait to see what the Producer and Director of the alluring documentary have to say”, Judith Frankel, MDPL Programs Outreach Coordinator stated in a recent interview. Billy Corben and Alfred Spellmen created “Cocaine Cowboys” in 2006 through their Miami- based media studio Rakontur. “Cocaine Cowboys” is a documentary that explores the rise of cocaine’s popularity and the resulting crime wave that impacted Miami and America.
