On Saturday, October 27, 2012, YPS will host its 5th Year Anniversary Celebration. This exclusive members-only gala is set to be the event of the year. Hosted at the newly renovated City Place Inn & Suites in downtown Springfield, the evening will kick off with red carpet arrivals, a dazzling cocktail hour, followed by photos, awards, dinner and dancing. Co-hosted by famed web and TV personalities Alfonso Santaniello of Strictly Businews and Ashley Kohl of WWLP’s Mass Appeal, this black-tie optional affair will treat guests to an exciting evening of highlighting YPS’ achievements and celebrating where they’re headed as YPS unveils their new Three-Year Strategic Plan. “We started with just a few professionals in a room five years ago and I am truly proud of how the organization has grown,” said Pam Thornton, president of YPS. “We are very fortunate to have the support and confidence of a significant amount of businesses in Greater Springfield that believe in the mission of investing in young talent in order to create the foundation for future leaders in this region.” YPS aims to serve their membership by engaging them to be active participants in their community, embrace diversity and inclusiveness and support their personal and professional development so they can become the future leaders of our region. Members continue to build partnerships with local businesses and organizations to make Greater Springfield a great place to Live, Work, Play and Stay. Governed by 16 Board of Directors, members are offered career development, networking, recreational and volunteer opportunities. Signature events include YPS’ CEO Luncheon Series, Annual Golf Tournament, Vote the Valley and the monthly networking event, Third Thursday. “This event is a celebration of all of the professionals in this region and what we all have built together,” Thornton added. “Everyone has contributed to this thriving organization. It will be an event that will only happen once.” To learn more about YPS about how you can get involved, please visit www.springfieldyps.com. End
