Sept. 26, 2012 - PRLog -- The hotel has consistently won the Wine Spectator’s Award of Excellence since 2006 but this is the first year the hotel has achieved the second-tier award, Best of Award of Excellence.
Wine Spectator's Restaurant Wine List Awards recognise restaurants whose wine lists offer interesting selections, are appropriate to their cuisine and appeal to a wide range of wine lovers.
The Best of Award of Excellence is the second-tier award, created to give special recognition to restaurants that clearly exceed the requirements of the Award of Excellence. Their wine lists typically offer 400 or more selections, along with superior presentation, and display either vintage depth, with several vertical offerings of top wines, or excellent breadth across several wine regions.
“This award is an international recognition of the quality and selection of the wines served in our restaurants and bears testament to our food and beverage team’s expertise and passion,” said Christoph Girsch, Director of Food & Beverage of The Chedi Muscat. “Our wines have been carefully selected to complement the dishes on the menu and we devote a lot of time to wine research so as to bring interesting choices to the table.”

The Restaurant is the property’s main dining outlet offering an eclectic menu of Asian, Middle Eastern, Indian and European cuisines. A unique feature of The Restaurant is its floor-to-ceiling wine library featuring an impressive wine collection, including an extensive selection of prestige champagnes.

The hotel has also notched up several other awards this year including: the TripAdvisor Travelers' Choice Awards 2012 for the Top 25 Relaxation & Spa Hotels and Top 25 Trendiest Hotels in the Middle East; the Esquire Middle East Magazine 2012 for the Top 10 Best Restaurants in the Middle East; the Interactive Media Council, Inc.  2012 Interactive Media Awards 'Best in Class' Award for Hotel/Resort Category; and the TripAdvisor 2012 Certificate of Excellence Award.
