PRLog -- This year, more than 200,000 people across the nation will be “on the MOVE” to end Alzheimer’s, including residents and staff from The Oscar and Ella Wilf Campus for Senior Living who will be participating in their own “Memory Walk,” in order to raise awareness and funds for Alzheimer’s care. The Alzheimer's Association created the “Memory Walk®” which calls on volunteers of all ages to assist in the fight against Alzheimer's.
As our population ages, the disease impacts a greater percentage of Americans. The number of people age 65 and older will more than double between 2012 and 2050 to 88.5 million or 20 percent of the population; likewise, those 85 and older will rise three-fold, to 19 million, according to the U.S. Census Bureau.
With the help from staff members, residents from The Lena and David T. Wilentz Senior Residence, The Martin and Edith Stein Assisted Living Residence , and The Martin and Edith Stein Hospice, will team up to walk the Wilf 63-acre campus grounds. The enthusiasm from everyone involved in this great effort has been overwhelming and has enabled The Wilf Campus for Senior Living to raise money for the past 8 years through generous contributions from friends, family and staff at the Wilf Campus.
