Follow on Google News | ![]() Announcement - Organization Name ChangeThe Phi Sigma Pi, Alpha Tau Chapter Endowment Fund, Inc. (The Fund) proudly announces that effective today, Tuesday, September 18, 2012, the new name of the organization will be the Tripod Foundation Inc.
Floyd Mitchell, Chairman and Co-Founder says, “The organization remains rooted in the values of ‘The Fund,’ but as we begin to expand our reach, we feel our name must reflect our expansion and impact on the greater community.” With the addition of the name change, the Tripod Foundation Inc. has also redesigned their logo. William Polk, Marketing Committee Chair spearheaded the logo design change. William says, “We wanted a logo that was in tune with our past vision, but that also had a slight update. The logo represents our belief that through the pursuit of education, the world will become accessible and attainable to those who seek it." Lloyd Freeman, Esq, former Chairman and Co-Founder summarizes the name change by stating, “The mission of our non-profit has always been centered upon three tenets: scholarship, leadership and fellowship. By changing the name to the Tripod Foundation Inc., we are able to better communicate those ideals that are the core of the organization. As well, I believe the new name and rebranding strategy will expand the reach of our non-profit, allowing us to serve more youth pursuing an education.” The Tripod Foundation Inc. is excited about this upcoming year and will be moving the organization forward with the launch of the new website, more community programs and lots of other exciting events. About the Tripod Foundation Inc. Mr. Lloyd Freeman (former Chairman) and Mr. Floyd Mitchell (current Chairman) founded the Tripod Foundation Inc. (formerly the Phi Sigma Pi, Alpha Tau Chapter Endowment Fund, Inc.) on February 20, 2007. The purpose of the organization is to provide scholarships and other types of financial aid to worthy individuals. It also seeks to maintain and aid social, charitable, educational, and other activities serving the community. The foundation also assists community groups and individuals in educational and charitable activities. The final goal of the organization aims to work with the youth in a variety of ways that encourage and promote character through scholarship, leadership, and fellowship.
