WWII Exhibit
Grab this opportunity to meet with re-enactors from Past Muster as we commemorate New Jersey’s own 102nd Cavalry who were the first into Paris in 1944! There will be many artifacts big and small from vehicles to weapons to tools! Enjoy stories and conversation about original brave men who made up this unit. Bring your camera! Appropriate for ages 7 to 107. (Children must be accompanied & supervised by an adult). Please courteously register in advance. Display will be on Nature Center front lawn.

Community Fossil Hunts
As nature offers its growing season bounty for us to enjoy, come and find your prehistoric bounty treasure in the Poricy Fossil Beds!  Our experienced guide will prepare you for your journey back in time 65 million years! We will provide the trowels & sifters and help you identify your finds! Please dress for the weather and wear rubber boots or old sneakers. Your feet WILL get wet! Note: Sandals and slip-on footwear prohibited. Remember to bring a small bag to hold your five best finds! Registration is needed so we will have enough supplies!!! Appropriate for adults and children (children must be accompanied & supervised by an adult). Meet at the Nature Center

Hot Topics In History
Join us for some stimulating conversation! September – Two Colonial Homes! Mt. Vernon and the Murray Farmhouse were both built in the 18th century by two ambitious men. We will compare photos of the two dwellings to see the differences and similarities. October – Join us as we investigate the story of the Navesink Highlands Twin Lights- an illuminating history! (We will be meeting in our 1770 NJ State Historic Murray Farmhouse parlor!) Special guests from the reenacting group ‘Past Muster’ as well as others will participate! Not necessary to commit to all sessions. - Must pre-register at least one week prior to each session.

Tails & Trails Hike
Meet the animals that reside at Poricy Park and compare characteristics of mammals, birds, reptiles, and amphibians. We will explore the habitats of these animals on a hike guided by a Poricy Park Naturalist! So dress appropriately and bring your camera! It’s always a mystery as to who we’ll see! Appropriate for all ages. (Children must be accompanied & supervised by an adult). Please courteously register in advance. Meet at the Nature Center. Regular program fees apply.

Apple Fest!
Discover your favorite type of apple as we explore and celebrate the “foreign” fruit. We’ll have apples to taste, apples to press, apples to dry at the Apple Fest. Join us and put your shoulder to the cider press while learning all about this versatile fall crop. Appropriate for all ages (children must be accompanied by their adult). Please courteously register in advance. Meet at the Murray Farmstead. Regular program fees apply.

All community and summer camp programs are run by Poricy Park Conservancy, a non-profit 501(c)(3) organization. Poricy Park is located at 345 Oak Hill Road in Middletown Township. With exceptional ecological resources, the 250 acre historical and nature site makes it one of the largest parks in Monmouth County. The Park offers recreational activities such as magnificent wooded hiking trails, bird watching, pristine pond settings, fishing, and a one-of-a-kind 70 million year-old Cretaceous fossil bed. Poricy Park is home to the 1770 NJ Historic Murray Farmhouse and Barn. The Nature Center is open Monday-Friday, 9:00am-4:00pm.
