The iPhone 5-The Main Changes To Expect On This New Device

Sept. 9, 2012 - PRLog -- A number of premium smartphones have already been unveiled this year from some major players in the market such as Nokia and Samsung.  It is now the turn of Apple to unveil their new iPhone 5.  A major event is planned for September 12th which is when the public will see the model for the first time.  Here are some of the changes that the new handset will sport.

Perhaps the aspect of the new iPhone 5 that consumers are looking forward to the most is the brand new design that the model will boast.  When the 4S device was launched in 2011 many consumers where left somewhat underwhelmed by the lack of a new chassis.  The same is not set to happen again as Apple have a new body lined up for this model.  The glass design of the iPhone 4 and 4S will make way for a new metallic shell.  Another major change relates to the screen department.  Apple are set to increase the screen size on the iPhone for the first time with the new model set to boast a 4 inch display.  Apple are also keen to use the "Retina" name once again which means that the resolution of the display will be boosted to enable a similar pixel density too what previous models have offered.

In terms of performance the new iPhone 5 is gearing up to be one of the fastest handsets around.  Sources suggest that the model will feature a larger amount of RAM than ever before.  The iPhone 4S offered 512MB and it is expected that this will double to 1GB on the new phone.  In addition to this the model will also run on an enhanced chipset.  As yet there is no confirmation about the type of processor that will be used on the model but a number of reports suggest that Apple will opt for a new quad core ship in order to compete with a number of rival handsets including the Samsung Galaxy S3.
