Aug. 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Crescent City Collection includes 12 originals and arrangements reflecting authentic New Orleans styles of early jazz music. From James Booker to the Dixieland Jazz Band, these tunes carry the grooves of New Orleans.  A highlight of the collection is John Boutte's "Treme Song" (arranged by permission) from the HBO series.  These tunes have been crafted with care and edited by Brent Holl to provide the perfect activities to learn about the roots of popular music in  America.

The tunes are for upper elementary and middle school marimba ensembles and can be played on traditional Orff instruments. Each tune has complete lesson plans and a performance map to help get the pieces rolling in music classes.

The collection includes a professionally produced CD ROM of supplemental materials including full scores, individual instrument parts and full-quality audio versions of each tune. M4a versions are high quality and can be copied and burned on a CD.  Mp3 versions can be played on a computer and used in presentations on whiteboards or projectors.

“This collection gives students and teachers the opportunity to perform and appreciate the music and culture I grew up on. This collection shares the music we New Orleanians see as commonplace in a city filled with history.” ~Steven Kennedy
