Aug. 21, 2012 - PRLog -- Corporate giant, Facebook, believes in free speech as long as it conforms to their beliefs.

Independent record label, Intolerance Records, launched a Social Media campaign for the band Wasteful Consumption Patterns in anticipation of their upcoming sophomore CD release. Everything was going as planned until the morning of August 21st when the bands business page suddenly disappeared from the Internet.

According to Intolerance Records Representative David Gorby, "Facebook shut the page down without warning and have not given us reason as to why it has been terminated." Dozens of emails and phone calls to Facebook made by Intolerance Records staff are being ignored. Gorby continues, "We were under the impression that all of our social media efforts were well within the confines of Facebook's Terms of Service. We would have gladly changed our marketing efforts, had we known we were in any violation, as opposed to just shutting down the page!"

Wasteful Consumption Patterns lead singer, DJ Korpserape [sic] commented on the matter. "We've had whole families of religious fanatics attack our page as of late, and I wouldn't be surprised if they were somehow behind this. They were calling me names, condemning me to Hell. To top matters, one of the mothers began propositioning me via private message."

When asked why the Wasteful Consumption Patterns band page was being targeted by religious fanatics, Korpserape [sic] responded. "Because we don't believe in Fairy Tales and we encourage free thinking. We're not here to represent evil. We just want you to think about the world and change it. People are killing each other over whose god is real. Mankind has bigger problems."

Tombass, guitarist for WCP was quoted as saying, "The worst part about it is that we have a show with Mushroomhead in four days and we were using the page to promote. No warning at all! It's sad that we're living in a world where we're all supposed to be connected but Facebook is the one who controls what you see."

J. Shepherd, Intolerance Records owner was reached for comment. "We just want the page reinstated and hopefully the damage can be undone. There was no intent by my staff to violate any parts of the agreement. We do not intend on taking any legal action at this time."
