More Than A San Diego Seafood Restaurant!Although known as a fine San Diego seafood restaurant Red Sails Inn has expanded its menu to include many comfort food items. Long a hit with locals for breakfast Red Sails Inn is thinking outside the box and offering food everyone can enjoy.
This year the current owner, Bill Dargitz decided to add comfort food to the mix and it’s been met with great enthusiasm. Some customers may have wondered why tinker with a successful formula, but Bill decided it was time to expand their menu for those that may not be fans of seafood. Can you believe that some people don’t like seafood? For their dinner menu Bill has added meatloaf, country fried steak, and a Reuben and steak sandwich. Additional items include a 10oz Ribeye, crab stuffed, bacon wrapped jumbo shrimp, deep fried catfish, Cajun style and chicken picatta. The lunch menu has added several favorites such as a Bacon Bleu burger, Mushroom Swiss burger, Southwest burger (Ortega chili, pepper jack cheese, side of jalapenos), Deep fried cat fish, a chicken bacon cheddar sandwich, and a Reuben sandwich. There is also a kids menu that offers what kids normally like. They offer grilled cheese, corn dogs, chicken tenders and of course mac and cheese. Kids love coming here when they can sit on the patio and look at the yachts. Located on the water the Red Sails Inn offers a spectacular view of luxury yachts from their patio. It offers a great place to enjoy their Happy Hour Monday thru Friday from 2-6 PM or their Sunset Specials Sunday thru Thursday from 4-7 PM. When the weather permits, which it does 6 or 7 months a year, the patio is a favorite place for many visitors. For people visiting the restaurant for the first time it’s a little different. When you first walk in the first thing you see is a full service bar. Past that you enter the restaurant which maintains a 1970’s style and beyond that is the popular patio. The décor hasn’t changed much over the years and continues to please those looking for a comfortable place to enjoy a fine meal. Bill has added one more thing for the restaurant by adding a VIP Club where you can be notified of specials and discounts by texting the word redsails to 72727. Of course normal texting charges apply, but you can opt out by replying stop when you get the text. They only send a text once a week so most people feel it is well worth being in the VIP Club to get notified of specials. Whether you’re looking for great seafood, a full breakfast or comfort food, the Red Sails Inn has it all. For more information visit: http://www.theredsails.com End
