| Get running (or walking!) for a good cause in the Admiral Swansea Bay 10kHot on the heels of the London2012 Olympic success, it’s the perfect time toenter the Admiral Swansea Bay10k. The race is suitable for all abilities from novices to experienced runners and is great for all the family with the range of JuniorRaces.
By: City and County of Swansea Garry Loynes has done just that and has entered the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k with his two sons to support Autism. Here is his story: “My wife and I have 3 children, 2 boys and 1 daughter. Rhys our oldest son is 21 in December and is Autistic (Aspergers Syndrome). Our other son Ieuan is 19 and is Autistic and also has learning difficulties. My sons will be running with me in the Admiral Swansea Bay 10k and we are running to help raise awareness and funds for the Neath Port Talbot Special Needs Group of which I am Chairman. The funds will be used to take our children, teenagers and adults out on trips. It’s a fantastic event, right on our doorstep and we are looking forward to taking part in 2012”. Frances Jenkins, the Council’s Strategic Manager for Tourism, Marketing and Events said, “The Admiral Swansea Bay 10k is a great annual event and attracts thousands of entrants and spectators alike. Mr Loyne’s story is an example of the inspirational motivation that many entrants demonstrate. Running the 10k will not only help the participant’ You can still enter the junior races for just £4!
