Sun Coast Bariatrics now offering multiple support sessions monthly

These locations include Lakeland and Palm Harbor, and are offered on weeknights as well as weekend times. Sun Coast patients will find it easy to find a place and time to meet with others who have also had bariatric surgery in Florida.

Dr. Tiffany Jessee, head of the Sun Coast Bariatrics practice, feels that support groups are an important part of success in a patient’s weight loss journey. She is a specialist in bariatric surgery in addition to being board-certified in general surgery. She was the first bariatric surgeon in the world to use the new ‘SPIDER’ surgical system that allows doctors to place a lap band using only one small incision. She is committed not only to expert care before and during any bariatric surgery procedures, but also excellence in follow-up after surgery. Her surgical team offers free information seminars on the Lap Band and gastric bypass surgery in Florida, post-surgery meetings on nutrition and healthy eating, and the support groups.

Studies have shown that support groups are very helpful for those who have had weight loss surgery.
