MCM Edmonton Windows Replacement – Our Experience

Aug. 14, 2012 - PRLog -- Calgary, AB – I must have been seven or eight years old when I first heard of the Edmonton windows replacement company known as MCM.  This was the mid-‘80s, and my family wanted to have some new wooden windows installed in our home.  Of course, I had no idea about the window replacement process at that time, but I did notice that everything seemed to be done quite quickly and accurately.  Those windows, while outdated in the 21st century, did serve us well for a good many years.  Over 25 years later, MCM is still going strong, and it wasn’t surprising that they were the first company I considered when I and my wife decided to have our home’s windows replaced.

For this particular Edmonton windows replacement project, we had opted to have PVC windows installed for our home.  This was a no-brainer for us – PVC, unlike other materials, requires so little maintenance and lasts considerably longer.  More importantly, PVC or vinyl windows are a great way to save on one’s energy bills.  Homes with these windows are very well-insulated and protected from the element, which naturally means you won’t have to struggle with your thermostat settings or overuse certain cooling or heating appliances just to feel comfortable at home.  Among the five types of vinyl windows offered by MCM, we chose casement windows, perfect for the spring and summer months, but also quite useful in keeping the cold winter air out.  

All in all, the process was quick and painless.  As it turns out, MCM hadn’t changed much in the 25 years since I first heard of the company.  MCM’s Edmonton windows replacement staff arrived promptly with all the required equipment for the project.  They were able to listen to our suggestions while offering some of theirs.  After two visits – one per day over two days – the project was complete and the casement windows all ready to use.  The windows worked perfectly – a huge relief on our part, given the fact that the Edmonton home improvement company we had hired previously to install windows had used subpar material and rushed installment techniques.  Those windows were probably good for just a few weeks’ tops – the windows installed by MCM were installed little over two months ago, and they’re still in great working condition.  We expect them to stay that way for years to come.

What else does MCM have to offer to customers in the Edmonton area?  MCM’s services also include installation and replacement of doors and siding and eavestroughing.  Just as they offer custom Edmonton windows replacement and installation, the same applies for doors.  Different choices of materials are available for siding installation – we would personally recommend vinyl siding.  Eavestroughing would also be quite useful, as it helps protect your home’s foundation from the rains.  We haven’t tried these services yet, but there is a very good chance we will, in the near future.  After all, our new windows were installed professionally, with a quick turnaround time and little hassle involved.
