Aug. 6, 2012 - PRLog -- Travis Morgan, author of Catch Me If You Know How (Internet Edition), is reaching out to libraries with a limited number of free copies of his book. In plain language, it unravels the mysteries of how users get trapped into visiting harmful websites, what some people do to hide deliberate visits to those sites, and exactly what parents can do to protect their kids. He has already supplied many public libraries in Southern California with the book.

As part of his outreach program and in honor of National Child Awareness Month (September), he is also making it possible for individuals to receive free copies of the book. To enter the 20 Free Book Giveaway program, visit GoodReads and LibraryThing (URLs provided below).

Morgan also notes that he wants to help anyone who wants to save a child in their lives and will provide a book those without the funds to purchase. Visit www.catchmeifyouknowhow.com for details and to complete the form requesting a copy.

“This is about knowing all the basics of detection and prevention and putting them to work,” says author and computer expert Travis Morgan. “It is not about costly software or complicated security measures you need a PhD to understand.”

Cookies, browser settings, Facebook security, and file-sharing are among the dozens of key topics covered in the short book, which includes a complete glossary of terms.

Morgan’s easily readable and practical book is endorsed by a number of well-known victim advocates such as Denise Brown (sister of Nicole Brown Simpson), and Dr. Pamela Pine (Stop the Silence: Stop Child Sexual Abuse), who notes: “In clear, concise and easy-to-understand language, Travis Morgan provides guidance about the use and misuse of computers and helps us all protect kids (and the rest of us!) from being exposed to harmful materials on-line.”

Contact Maryann Karinch (maryann@karinch.com) for bullets for articles, an interview with the author, or to request a copy for a library.
