Issaquah Therapists Have Rare Insights into Tragedy at Tribal School

ISSAQUAH, Wash. - Oct. 26, 2014 - PRLog -- Diane Zimberoff, LMFT and David Hartman, LICSW are available to give insights into the mind of Jaylen Fryberg and to aid the community reeling from the shock of his attack.

“We are grieving with the families,” says Zimberoff, “and want to contribute to the healing.”

Shock and trauma are infused in every aspect of the school shooting in Marysville, Washington.. Zimberoff and Hartman, the authors of Overcoming Shock: Healing the Traumatized Mind and Heart (New Horizon Press, Dec 2014) can be reached immediately for comment.

Zimberoff notes: "When people experience a traumatic event, they can have both emotional and physical responses. While trauma is recorded in us psychologically, shock is recorded physiologically. If stress is triggered by a memory or experience long after the initial traumatic event, we can suffer from recurring shock."

Zimberoff and Hartman are co-founders of The Wellness Institute in Issaquah and specialize in trauma resolution and stress-related illnesses. They focus on providing tools for successful treatment of people who suffer from debilitating patterns caused by shock in their lives.
