Craig Morrison & Danny Winters
Aug. 3, 2012
-- DURHAM, NC – Durham-based Cimarron Homes is pleased to announce that President Craig Morrison and Production Manager Danny Winters recently obtained the NAHB (National Association of Home Builders) Master Certified Green Professional™
(Master CGP™) designation, the highest level of certification within the NAHB Research Center National Green Building Program. The CGP™ designation provides building industry professionals with a sound background in Green building methods. The Master CGP™ builds on the CGP™ designation and expands into the mechanics of Green building. To obtain the Master CGP™ designation, an individual must complete the required courses, be a building industry professional with five years of Green building experience, and have built, remodeled, or been involved with the construction of at least three dwellings in a three-year period to a recognized local, state or national certified Green residential program. Since 2006, Cimarron has built only Green-Certified homes, resulting in an approximate total to date of 475 NAHB Research Center Green-Certified homes in the Triangle area.
In addition to these two Master CGP™ staff designations, Cimarron is delighted to announce that all of the company’s field supervisors have attained the CGP™ designation. These certifications identify these individuals as experts with knowledge of the best strategies for incorporating Green building principles into homes.
Cimarron Homes was founded by Craig Morrison in 1982. As the company continuously strives to be environmentally responsible, it has been instrumental in bringing “Green” to the mainstream. Cimarron builds each and every home meeting or exceeding the specifications of the NAHB Research Center dkbvt National Green Building Certification as well as Energy Star-Certification. Third party verifiers confirm, upon each home’s completion, that the guidelines of these programs have been met, resulting in the afore-mentioned approximate total to date of 475 Green-Certified Cimarron homes and 515 Energy Star-Certified Cimarron homes in the Triangle area. These numbers are far greater than those of any other Triangle builder. Why does Cimarron do this? Green-Certified homes and Energy Star-Certified consume less energy and other resources, facilitate better indoor air quality, and provide a durable product requiring less maintenance. Customers not only spend less money upon purchase, they also enjoy long-term savings due to the Green/energy efficient/healthy systems included in each home.
