-- Snell & Wilmer is pleased to announce that Anne Meyer, an employee benefits partner in the Phoenix office, has been appointed to the board of directors for UMOM New Day Centers, Inc.
UMOM is the largest homeless shelter for families in Arizona. UMOM’s mission is to provide homeless families and individuals safe shelter, housing and supportive services to assist them in reaching their greatest potential. This is accomplished by the provision of a continuum of services including shelter, food, case management, transportation assistance, child development, crisis counseling, employment programs, education, medical care and housing search and relocation services. Last year UMOM served a diverse population of over 6,000 individuals through their comprehensive network of services. UMOM is a private, nonsectarian, non-profit agency dating back to 1964.
Meyer’s practice is concentrated in employee benefits, including compliance with the requirements of the Internal Revenue Code and the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 (ERISA). Meyer advises clients on matters relating to the tax-qualification of pension and savings plans, nonqualified deferred compensation plans and health care reform (the Patient Protection and Affordance Care Act of 2010). She also regularly assists clients in correction of violations under Department of Labor and Internal Revenue Service correction programs. Meyer received her B.A. from Loras College with maxima cum laude recognition. She then went on to earn her juris doctor from the University of Iowa College of Law, where she also graduated with distinction.
