Smartenit adds the sweetness of Linux Home Automation to Raspberry Pi making it HomAidPi à la mode
Smartenit, a home and building automation solutions provider, has added the popular Raspberry Pi board to their repertoire of Linux platforms that run its XML-socket based automation package.
To enable access of the HomAidPi™ from anywhere, Smartenit provides client applications for web browsers and mobile devices. The applications give the ability to control and monitor the various nodes in the automation network plus the facilities to configure devices, set up automation events, establish bindings among devices, and more.
This appetizing HomAidPi offers users the ability to seamlessly monitor and control appliances using three of the most prevalent automation protocols: ZigBee, INSTEON and X10. HomAidPi operates stand-alone with built-in sophisticated automation software doing away for the need of a dedicated PC. The Raspberry Pi computing platform and Linux make custom powerful applications easy to develop and deploy.
“We are happy to satisfy the craving of home automation enthusiasts with a solid-value gateway solution. Users can choose their favorite flavor by adding one or several interface devices. For ZigBee only, the Smartenit USB-CID is a long-range coordinator usable with very large networks. Our ZBPLM allows set up of all three protocols. Or, for INSTEON and X10 only, the INSTEON PLM from Smartenit or Smarthome is another choice. The interfaces simply plug into one of the RPi’s USB ports, then, for the ice cream on top - download our FREE firmware and enjoy!” says Justin Samuel, Smartenit’s manager of customer relations.
