Free Nationwide Per Diem Job Service for Independent Optometrists Launched

July 23, 2012 - PRLog -- July 22, 2012 – Irvine, California.  A Southern California software firm today announced the availability of its free ODsOnCall service that connects Doctors of Optometry with Optometry & Ophthalmology practices that require temporary coverage due to vacation, unexpected illness, maternity/paternity leave, jury duty, family emergencies, funerals, etc.  

Historically, many Optometrists, especially solo, independent practitioners who run their own practices were not able to easily find temporary coverage on short notice.   The problem was that existing “job boards” typically operated by Optometry schools and professional associations were “passive”, that is, Optometrists needing coverage would post a message and hope that an available Optometrist would see the post and apply.

In contrast, ODsOnCall takes an “active” approach.  The ODsOnCall service maintains a dynamic, real-time nationwide database of available Optometrists and when an Optometry or Ophthalmology practice needs coverage, the ODsOnCall service emails all available doctors in the coverage area facilitating a quick response.
