July 20, 2012 - PRLog -- SOUTHGATE, MICH.—Honda is offering customers who purchase its new electric vehicle, the Honda Fit, free collision insurance without any deductible.

Honda has chosen to offer complimentary insurance as way to encourage customer interest in the vehicle. Officials say they were concerned about insurers covering the repairs of a low-volume vehicle like the Fit.

The Honda FIT EV, which is an electric version of Honda’s subcompact hatchback, appears in some showrooms as early as this month. For now, Honda plans to offer a number of 36-month, 36,000-mile leases for $389 a month plus taxes with no down payment necessary. The collision insurance is included in this price, as is roadside assistance and maintenance.
