Follow on Google News | ASPCA Grant – Provides Emergency Feed SupportAfter The Homestretch-Arizona is very honored and appreciative to receive a $2500 grant for hay and supplements from the ASPCA.
Felicia-Rose is probably the most appreciative. She was 400 lbs underweight when we rescued her from going to auction. She has gained at least 150 lbs in 6 weeks … because she eats 7 flakes a day! Our newest rescued abandoned mare is underweight but will also need specialized nutrition to overcome neglect of her hooves, coat, and muscles. Stubborn Streak and Cold Prince are just happy eating and filling their bellies! Our herd is now up to 14 horses. Two horses are trained and ready to find new homes (Star and Majestic Kiss). Three are sound and healthy and ready for training (Janzig Affair, Tyger Top, and Cisco). We want to thank the ASPCA and Jacque Schultz, Senior Director of the ASPCA Equine Fund, for assisting us in rehabbing and transitioning these ex-racehorses for new adoptive homes. End
