Sprinkler tanks are commonly found in large manufacturing units and warehousing premises. Water Tanks & Services were approached by a national packaging company back in 2007, and were asked if refurbishment of such a badly leaking sprinkler tank was possible. Mick Brightmore of WT&S said " At the time we hadn`t been involved in sprinkler tank projects, and needed to create a repair and corrosion prevention method. The repair method we came up with involved an internal and external repair of the tanks perforated areas, This method sealed and strengthened the existing corrosion points. We then carried out a manual surface preparation and applied three coats of glass flake epoxy to prevent further corrosion. This system allows us to issue a ten year guarantee against further leakages. In recent years, insurance companies have started to demand sprinkler tank condition reports, resulting in increased interest in our system."
