Cutting-Edge Author Unleashes Her First Novel

Her book Poetic Illusion, takes a look at marriage seen through the eyes of both her characters, David and Ferrell Harrington. EK has incorporated poetry into the story line helping her readers experience more deeply the inner turmoil her characters are going through.

EK’s book, “Poetic Illusion”, deals indirectly with emotional abuse. We don’t often think about abuse as being mental or emotional or psychological. We associate abuse more or less with being physical. Manipulation in one form or another can be considered abuse when it’s aimed at attacking a person’s self-esteem. Subtly they coerce their victim to do the will of the perpetrator.

Playing with someone’s emotional state of mind is abuse. Knowing their vulnerabilities and using them against them is abuse.
In Poetic Illusion Ferrell Harrington finds herself in that situation. Although the character never comes out and accuses her husband of abuse the implied undertone is there.

Not all victims escape from their abusers. Ferrell found her strength and her voice. She didn’t cave into her husband’s manipulations becoming another statistic.
It took her awhile to find her inner strength, to understand who she was and that she didn’t need him to validate her.

She showed him she was strong and his manipulations went on deaf ears.
In turn her husband learned some hard truths about himself. That he was controlling, realizing the manipulation tactics he tried to use on her were very wrong. He’d hurt the one person in his life that had always stood by him and loved him unconditionally.

EK Ellis tells her story with such heart felt honesty and humor. She believes her story will touch the hearts of her readers, male or female. After reading Poetic Illusion she hopes her readers will come away with a feeling that love is the greatest foundation. If we all have that to build upon, nothing will be able to tear it down. Akin to the house built on rock, a solid foundation that the waves of life won't be able to erode away.

Poetic Illusion is women adult fiction. Life is poetry, love is sacred. Betrayal unravels the foundation of trust exposing the illusion of human perfection.
