Follow on Google News | New Dean of CSU Dominguez Hills College of Business Administration and Public Policy NamedCalifornia State University, Dominguez Hills has named H. Joseph Wen as the new dean of the College of Business Administration and Public Policy.
“Dr. Wen has a distinguished career as a scholar, educator and academic leader and we are pleased to have him come to CSU Dominguez Hills,” said Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs Ramon Torrecilha. “We believe his experience aligns well with the mission of the university and the College of Business Administration and Public Policy to educate and prepare a diverse student body to succeed in a global workforce.” Since 2008, Wen has served as dean of the School of Business at Emporia State University in Emporia, Kan. During that time, he strengthened the school’s partnerships within the business community and other institutes of higher learning, grew the faculty and developed new programs all in the face of budget reductions, and led the school through the accreditation process with the Association to Advance Collegiate Schools of Business. Wen is also the school’s Jones Distinguished Professor of Management Information Systems. “It is a great privilege to be named dean of the College of Business Administration and Public Policy at CSU Dominguez Hills,” Wen said. “I look forward to meeting with students, faculty, staff, alumni and boards on campus and working closely with these stakeholders to define CBAPP’s brand and help develop leaders who will help shape the future.” Wen previously had been department chair of accounting and MIS and the endowed business alumni professor at Southeast Missouri State; and served on the faculty at Illinois State University, Rutgers University, and New Jersey Institute of Technology; and as visiting professor at National Cheng Kung University in Taiwan. A scholar in the area of e-commerce strategy and e-learning effectiveness, he has received more than $6 million in research grants and is widely published. A native of Taiwan, Wen earned his doctorate in information systems from Virginia Commonwealth University in Richmond, Virginia, a master’s in management from Chinese Cultural University in Taiwan, and a bachelor’s in navigation from the National Taiwan Ocean University. The College of Business Administration and Public Policy is one of the largest colleges at CSU Dominguez Hills with more than 2,800 undergraduate and graduate students enrolled in its degree programs. Designed to provide students with both theoretical and applied knowledge that will prepare them for successful careers, undergraduate degrees offered include applied studies, business administration, criminal justice administration, economics, and public administration, with concentrations in such areas as accounting, finance, global logistics and supply chain management, information systems, management, marketing, and sports and hospitality.
