NOC of Ukraine Establishes Independent Investigation Commission as General Secretary Resigns

The Ukraine National Olympic Committee has announced the establishment of an independent investigation commission and NOC General Secretary Volodymyr Gerashchenko has resigned following a recent report by the BBC regarding London 2012 ticket sales.
 
May 28, 2012 - PRLog -- Mr Gerashchenko vowed to co-operate with the independent investigation commission after tendering his resignation.

At the Ukrainian NOC Extraordinary Executive Committee meeting initiated by President Sergey Bubka and held last Friday, May 25, representatives from reputable Ukrainian legal institutions were appointed to participate in the independent investigation commission.

Sergey Bubka said: “The Ukraine National Olympic Committee takes accusations very seriously and that is why we have acted so swiftly to address the recent BBC reports.”

The NOC of Ukraine is an independent non-governmental organization working openly and in accordance with the highest ethical principles and it is committed to putting every effort into investigating this issue.  

Following the completion of the independent investigation commission, the Ukrainian NOC will then inform all interested parties of the results of the investigation.

The structure of the independent investigation commission:
Sergiy Kozyakov - Head of the committee, attorney in Law, member of Academic Council of the Kyiv national university named after Taras Shevchenko;
Olga Zhukovska – Vice-President of the Union of Attorneys of Ukraine, member of UEFA Appellate Committee;
Valentyn Zagariya – Head of the Judicial League of Ukraine.
