May 18, 2012 - PRLog -- Washington, DC – EastBanc, Inc., the DC-based commercial and residential real estate investment and development firm, and Jamestown, a leading real estate investment and management firm, announced today that Intermix, the high-end women’s clothing boutique, has signed a long-term lease to occupy the corner retail space in its Georgetown Renaissance property at 3300 M Street, NW.  The 2,679-square-foot retail space is a prime corner commercial property, which borders Cady’s Alley and is an entry into the fashionable Georgetown Design District.
Intermix is relocating from 3222 M Street, NW to a more spacious location, reaffirming both its commitment to Georgetown and the neighborhood’s status as Washington’s premier retail destination. The women’s apparel company is a multi-brand fashion retailer that offers a curated, well-edited mix of on-trend clothing and accessory options that represent the finest combination of emerging and established designers. Intermix, represented by RKF, will replace the current occupant, Thos. Moser, later this summer.
Located on the corner of M and 33rd Streets, NW, Intermix will enrich the extensive collection of distinguished designer brands currently located in Cady’s Alley, rounding out the retail quarter as Washington’s epicenter of modern fashion, design, furnishing and lifestyle goods. The Intermix deal comes on the heels of a recent surge of Georgetown Renaissance lease activity, including sophisticated retailers like CB2, Babette, The North Face, City Sports and West Elm. The Intermix relocation solidifies the westward movement in Georgetown of deluxe lifestyle offerings and will complement Relish as a luxury fashion tenant.
“Cady’s Alley is a vibrant retail community and arguably DC’s fashion and design ground zero,” said Anthony Lanier, president of EastBanc. “Securing Intermix delivers one of the nation’s top fashion-forward women’s apparel stores to the quarter and we are pleased to have them within the distinctive urban village that comprises our properties.”
EastBanc and Jamestown’s Georgetown Renaissance portfolio, which includes Cady’s Alley, is a unique collection of high-end retail properties in one of Washington, DC’s premier retail locations. The portfolio also includes boutique office space and 16 luxury rental apartments. Georgetown Renaissance consists of more than 300,000 square feet across 17 properties in Georgetown and one property in Alexandria, Virginia. The two companies are working on an additional 30,000 square feet of new leases in Cady’s Alley.
