The Darcy Hotel Unveils Renovation Expansion Plans

WASHINGTON - March 19, 2021 - PRLog -- In honor of International Women's Month, The Darcy is pleased to announce the expansion of its event space footprint. The Logan Circle hotel located at 1515 Rhode Island Avenue, NW announced today renovation plans for a 2,563-square-foot courtyard pavilion extension that includes a state-of-the-art 1,724-square-foot interior event space featuring an architecturally progressive skylight dome, wrap-around floor-to-ceiling glass windows and glass folding sliding doors that flow onto a newly paved, bi-level courtyard terrace. Named after Supreme Court Justice, Ruth Bader Ginsburg, The Bader Ginsburg event venue will hold more than 200 guests for meetings, weddings and receptions and will include numerous event configurations. Construction began on the project in January 2021 and is slated for delivery in May. The Darcy is currently scheduling occupancy that will begin in June 2021.

Designed by the acclaimed Baskervill architecture and design firm, The Darcy's new $2.4 million courtyard pavilion features a sleek open environment and modern aesthetic with a sophisticated multi-functional scheme that compliments the hotel's contemporary design. A neutral earth-tone palette of ivory, gray and pops of turquoise adorn the space with warm wood elements and green plantings.  The translucent skylight dome is adjustable with uplighting and shading features.

Additional renovation plans for The Bader Ginsburg include a vestibule entrance, skylight, terrace entrance, storeroom, and separated men's and women's restrooms.  Possible room configurations for the transitional spaces include a classroom setting for 135 people, standing reception for 200, seated dinner for 144, U-shaped seating for 50 and a theater setup for 176, all presenting a sleek, transformative look.

The Darcy hotel property spans 135,000-square-feet that features 226 guest rooms and suites and the 2,700-square-foot Gerrard Street Kitchen restaurant – a recently opened restaurant concept of globally-inspired cuisine by Chef Jaime Velasquez. The hotel also includes the Bluestone Lane Logan Circle Café offering an Australian coastal design and menu. The Darcy is owned by Denver-based Northwood Investors LLC and managed by Northwood Hospitality.
