Florida Title Agent Slated to Speak at 2012 NSSCS on June 12

May 17, 2012 - PRLog -- On the heels of presenting at the 2012 ALTA Business Strategies Conference in Louisville in late March, Florida title agent, Chris Black, is slated to speak at the 2012 National Settlement Services & Compliance Summit (http://www.octoberresearch.com/summit/2012/about.cfm). Black will join four others on the Summit’s “Voice of the Title Agent” panel.

The Summit in Cleveland, Ohio, has become the premier annual destination for title and settlement services leaders and top real estate professionals to come together for unmatched networking and learning. The 2012 Summit will be held in downtown Cleveland’s Marriott at Key Center on June 12-13. During the Summit, expert speakers and noted industry veterans take the stage for two days of educational presentations, panel discussions and breakout sessions. Attendees return year after year to learn and discuss the most important issues impacting their businesses.

Joining Black on the panel will be: David Townsend of Agents National Title Insurance Company, a regional title insurance underwriter with agents in Indiana, Kansas, Missouri, Arkansas and Mississippi; Christopher Gulotta, a Manhattan-based attorney whose interests include The Gulotta Law Group and Paradigm Title Agency & Settlement, LLC; Timothy Mullin of Counselors Title, one of the few licensed title agents in Maryland to receive the industry designation of Certified Land Title Professional; and Andy Maloney, attorney and owner of Nashville Title Insurance Corporation.

The panelists will discuss:

* Federal and state regulations and legislation and their effects on title agents and the industry as a whole
* Experiences with fraud and theft and takeaways from those experiences
* Marketplace and business improvements
