Team AMVETS Thrift Stores In California Now Offer The Convenience Of Credit/Debit Cards

May 15, 2012 - PRLog -- Anaheim, CA—AMVETS Department of California Service Foundation has announced that their Team AMVETS Thrift Stores can now accept credit and debit cards for purchases at their stores across California. Previously a cash-only business, the new check out system at each store enables the stores to quickly handle customer payments. “We have had many requests over the years for us to accept credit and debit cards”, said Matthew Scibilia, Operations Manager of the stores. “All of us at Team AMVETS are looking forward to this upgrade in service and convenience for our customers. Not everyone wants to use cash all of the time, like they often have to do at other thrift stores.”

The proceeds from all Team AMVETS thrift store sales directly assist veterans and their families.   Scibilia continued, “Anything that helps our customers with their shopping experience and makes it easier to aide our Veterans is great with us...and remember, donations are always appreciated.”  Team AMVETS donation centers and collection trucks for home pick up can be seen in many parts of the state as they gather donations of clothing and household goods to be sold in the stores. According to Jim Pidgeon, President of AMVETS Dept. of California Service Foundation, “This is the newest phase of our ongoing upgrades to improve the shopping experience at all of our stores throughout California. Team AMVETS is committed to serving our veterans and these thrift stores are a major source of raising funds for vital services and programs.” Team AMVETS thrift stores are open Monday – Saturday with a new selection of merchandise arriving in stores weekly.
