Comedian Keith Lyle Getting Shipped Overseas
The up and coming stand up comic takes his tour to US Military bases in the Middle East
Add Keith Lyle to list of talent that is doing their part. The stand up comic and actor, best known as the snarky 21 dealer in the hit movie “The Hangover”, is taking time off of his club tour and acting schedule to spend a week in the Middle East this June. He will be the feature act for the Don Barnhart Comedy Hypnosis Show.
“I can't put into words how proud I am to do this,” said Lyle. “The sacrifices the brave men and women in our military make is truly heroic. I am proud to follow in the footsteps of comedic greats from Bob Hope to Louis C.K.”
Lyle is starting to make waves in the comedy world. He received the most online votes in the Improv Comedy Club's “Up Yours” contest. Lyle is also featured in the documentary “Finding the Funny” (http://www.findingthefunnymovie.com), which debates whether being funny is talent based or can be taught. He has also hosted weeks of the popular 'Tweet that Joke” and “Dear Comic”. He boasts over 50,000 Twitter followers.
Lyle is fortunate to perform these important shows with an entertainment veteran like Don Barnhart. No stranger to war zones, in 2010 Barnhart received the International Performing Artists Association’
The trip is scheduled to take place in June, and Lyle is excited. “I can't wait. I've always wanted to help my country, but I'm too much of a sissy to actually fight,” explained Lyle. “Career wise, this takes me to another level. There's no room for error. These guys see the greatest entertainment America has to offer. And they deserve the best. ”
The show is produced by Comics Ready to Entertain and Scott Kennedy. Lyle and Barnhart did a “Salute to the Troops” show with Kennedy benefiting the Wounded Warriors in Colorado Springs earlier this year. Following the success of that show, producers quickly asked if they would perform for our military personnel.
