Win an Engine at the Carlisle GM Nationals

May 8, 2012 - PRLog -- The Carlisle GM Nationals is chocked full of great finds and more often than not, an enthusiast coming on grounds goes home with something special.  Many times, the parting gift is a memory or a necessary part for their daily driver.  This year’s event, June 22-24 at the Carlisle PA Fairgrounds, will see one person go home with something better than a memory or a new set of tires.  Carlisle Events, in conjunction with Auto Enthusiast, will award a brand new 409 cubic inch engine.

The engine looks original but features a host of high performance parts from some of the top manufacturers in the industry. During the rebuild, the machine work was done by R & R Machine of Brookville, Pennsylvania, while final assembly was completed by Jerry Wallace.  All of these partner companies offer products that are available for your very own engine build, many of which can also be found as part of the swap meet and Manufacturers Midway located within the GM Nationals.  This 1963 409cid engine will produce 425 horsepower with the reliability and durability you would expect from The General.  In addition to the engine being up for grabs, it will also be on display on an Easy-Run Engine Test Stand.

"Amos Enthusiast and Carlisle Events are very happy to offer this engine to our fans of the GM Nationals," noted event manager Rick Markko.  "It gave us great pleasure to work with all of the aftermarket suppliers who participated as well as our friend Don Fezell of Don Fezell Classics who provided the engine."  Markko continued, "R & R Machine of Brookville, Pennsylvania handled all the machining while Jerry Wallace assembled the 1963 409cid/425hp engine and made sure it was ready for our future winner."  Markko concluded by saying that "It's a true piece of history having found life in one of those timeless classics produced between 1958 and 1964. We hope the winner has a great plan for his engine and Amos Enthusiast will do a follow up story on the winner and the vehicle in which the engine will find a new home."

Attendance is not required to win the engine and no additional purchase is necessary.  Hopeful winners may sign up on site via one of many kiosks located within the new Guest Services building during the GM Nationals or online via www.CarlisleEvents.com/giveaways.
