Colchester firm takes to the world stage at 10th anniversary of shipping network in Miami

May 4, 2012 - PRLog -- The Brunel Way freight forwarding firm was one of the founder members of the Security Cargo Network alongside just eight others at its inaugural conference in Istanbul in 2002.  

Today, it is one of just two English companies among 205 members, who together represent 93 countries working from almost 390 offices worldwide. Delegates from each of these organisations came together in Miami over Easter to mark a decade of success  for the network.

Wallis Shipping Chief Executive Stuart Gregory explained that the network was established to develop business opportunities amongst international shipping companies.  “There has always been a real demand for a network like this, which is evidenced in its growth from nine to over 200 members,” he said.

“Being a part of this network is great for building relationships and trust with companies in our industry around the world.  It’s been wonderful for our company, helping to keep our business levels consistent over the past decade – which, in turn, has helped to ensure continuity in employment for the local area.”

Mr Gregory, who was joined in Miami by Marketing Executive Marcus Harden and Business Development Manager Keely Barton, said the three-day conference at the Eden Roc Renaissance Hotel had been a great success.

He said: “The conference in Miami Beach enabled us to hold meetings with over 50 partner members which has already yielded positive results in the form of new quote requests and bookings. The event also gave us the opportunity to build and further strengthen our business relationships with members of the Security Cargo Network.

“The network looks set to continue the impressive growth it has shown over the past ten years.  We look forward to the next decade with lots of optimism about its positive impact on our business – and its knock-on effect for the economy in Colchester.”
