Gluten-Free Dining Made Simple

WORCESTER, MA:  It seems “Gluten-Free” has become the most recent diet trend, but for many this is essential to managing a real health problem, Celiac Disease. The Gluten Intolerance Group of North America estimates that Celiac Disease affects 1 in 100 Americans, and that over 18 million people are affected by some form of Gluten intolerance. Gluten is the protein found in wheat, rye and barley. It is contained in our favorite dishes like pastas, sauces, beer, and it’s hidden in many products, making it difficult to avoid.
So for diners who are faced with this dietary challenge, eating out can be problematic. EVO Dining has emerged as Worcester’s health-conscious restaurant. EVO’s conditional hiring policy requires each server to pass an exam on diet and allergy needs, testing on specifics of ingredients and cooking surfaces. Currently, the menu offers nearly 40 menu items that can be ordered Gluten Free, and several other sides, and accompaniments.
