He has been awarded the ‘S R Jindal Prize – 2011’ for 'Crusade against Corruption' instituted by the Sitaram Jindal Foundation for his efforts. In his service-life, Atul Kumar always tried to look into things with a renewed interest and was always earnest to save the national property, or property of the people. Even while in the highest position in his service, he was never unaware of his responsibility and duty.
This is an edited compilation of the experiences, impressions, thoughts and pain of the author penned through his blog posts. The blog posts at the same time portrayed the particular periods and also traces his reflections on them. The author, a commoner and a whistle blower, does not hesitate to take on the most powerful in the Indian polity, bureaucracy, and media, through his writings, with nothing but his convictions to back him. It is the preponderance of the red-tape, and the irresponsibility of the Government officials, that is behind most of the backlogs of the present situation of Indian Railway. It would have been the most profiteering sector of the Government. But, the reality is quite different.
