Sphinx Solutions Celebrates The Essex City Version Of Monopoly

April 26, 2012 - PRLog -- Chelmsford was announced as England’s newest city to receive its very own version of the famous, Monopoly board-game. It comes after it was granted city status in March to mark the Queen's Diamond Jubilee. Managing Director of Sphinx Solutions, an outsource Sales and Marketing Company that it based in Chelmsford, said, “Chelmsford is a wonderful city, there is definitely something for everyone, with our leisure and art facilities, dining, shopping, nightlife or our rich heritage, there’s no questioning that the decision for a Chelmsford Monopoly board is well deserved.”

Winning Moves, the company that manufacture the game under licence from Hasbro, said that there was several Essex places in the final running for their own board game with the final decision coming down to a roll of the dice. Colchester came second in the final cut. Mark Hauser, commercial director, said: “Chelmsford’s city status perhaps tilted the balance in the end. The county is blessed with wonderful landmarks and we are very sure in years to come Colchester – and maybe some more – will pass GO as well.”

The Managing Director of Sphinx Solutions continued to comment further, saying “Chelmsford has much to offer, with an abundance of things to see and do locally, the makers will have difficulty choosing only a handful of the many attractions in Chelmsford to place on the board game.”

Winning Moves, who manufacture the game under license from Hasbro, says it will be on shop shelves in time for this Christmas. A source from Sphinx Solutions said, “It has been an exciting few months for Chelmsford, firstly being declared as a city and secondly, a Chelmsford Monopoly Board-game being released late 2012. I know what I want for Christmas now…”

Chelmsford was one of seven Essex places on an unreleased final MONOPOLY shortlist for a remake and revamp alongside Basildon, Brentwood, Clacton, Colchester, Harlow and Southend.
