One of our long-time members, Larry Tracy, will not only make a presentation on how to win contracts through oral presentations, he will also conduct a no-holds barred Q & A session on public speaking. Larry has written numerous nationally-published articles about public speaking, and he is the author of the book The Shortcut to Persuasive Presentations. His coaching is not derivative classroom theory, but instead flows from his “real-world” experience.
He’s a former Army Colonel and at one time headed the Pentagon’s top briefing team, responsible for the daily intelligence presentation to the Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff. Because of his speaking skills, he was later detailed by the White House to the State Department where he subsequently spoke and debated almost 400 times on controversial foreign policy issues before some of the most demanding, even hostile, audiences in the country, leading to President Reagan calling him “an extraordinarily effective speaker.”
He has been cited as one of the top presentation skills trainers/coaches in the country in publications such as the Information Please Business Almanac and Sourcebook, published by Houghton-Mifflin, Best of the Best, published by Insight Publishing, and What to Say When… You’re Dying on the Platform, published by McGraw-Hill. He conducts workshops for corporations and government agencies, and trains corporate teams to deliver winning oral presentations for government and commercial contracts. He has recently conducted “Briefing Training” for the Navy’s Seal Team Six.
