Spring into Birmingham and get the buzz
Spring has most definitely sprung and gardeners everywhere are looking forward to getting up close and personal with their favourite celebrity gardeners at the June Gardeners World exhibition at Birmingham’s NEC – will you be inspired ?
For five days from 13th June amateurs, experts and even the luminaries of television gardeners will descend on the NEC to share their enthusiasm for this most absorbing of pastimes. The event will be packed with live demonstrations, award-winning and inspirational show gardens, unbeatable plants and shopping too.
Tickets for this event are always popular and they have been selling like hot cakes since it was announced that gardening gods Alan Titchmarsh and Monty Don will be appearing. Alan Titchmarsh will be at the show on Wednesday 13th and Thursday 14th June and Monty Don on Saturday 16th and Sunday 17th. Joe Swift and the Gardeners’ World Magazine team will be sharing their in-depth expert knowledge.
Hundreds of nurseries will be showcasing their prize specimens in the Royal Horticultural Society floral marquee and visitors will be able to meet the growers and learn the secrets of success.
The stunning show gardens will be a centre of attention as usual and will feature displays from RHS Gold Medal winners Chris Beadshaw and Andy Sturgeon. These works of art are the culmination of a year of hard work from some of the world’s greatest gardeners.
Another exciting attraction for 2012 will be the RHS wildlife area packed with stands from The British Beekeepers’ Association, Pond Conservation, the Bat Conservation Trust and many other groups. Wildlife is vital to our gardens and this year the spotlight will be on the creatures which make everything work.
In the Countryfile Magazine area the EcoVillage will feature areas for people who want to make their home and garden a little greener.
The NEC is the perfect venue for this huge and stunning show. Access is easy by car, rail or coach. If you can’t find a coach trip to suit your needs why not organize one? There are special ticket prices for group bookings. Full details can be found at www.bbcgardenersworldlive.com
With an estimated 28,600 beds available at the Birmingham NEC hotels there is plenty of room for everyone so book now and take advantage of the 2012 offers. Whatever your budget you will find the right choice on line
