Believe it or not it is fifty years since The Beatles first took to the stage in Merseyside. Since then the combo have become a 20th Century pop phenomenom, and this article highlights how Liverpool is celebrating this landmark anniversary.

Yes, it was on 18th August 1962 that four relatively unknown musicians took to a small stage and one of the most famous pop groups in the world was born.
