Green Home Experts’ Contest Showcases Beginner Gardeners by Pinning them Down

April 17, 2012 - PRLog -- Green Home Experts announces a contest for beginner gardeners to keep their energy and enthusiasm high throughout the summer.   Whether starting a first garden on a ½ acre plot of land, or in containers on a 10th floor, 4x6 ft. balcony, either gardener is eligible to enter and has an equal chance of winning.  

“The summer is filled with garden shows and events focused on the veteran gardener.  Most have invested years in achieving the garden of their dreams.  We want to give our new gardeners a chance to have fun and show off their efforts too.  Adding a little competition into the mix keeps the energy high.  Once they experience how much fun and relaxing gardening can be, they’ll be hooked,” commented Maria Onesto Moran, Green Home Experts owner.  

The contest will be hosted on Green Home Experts’ Pinterest site http://www.pinterest.com/ghexperts.  From May through September, contestants are encouraged to pin photos of their garden as it develops over the summer.  The contestant with the greatest number of Pinterest “likes” for their garden pins on September 30th wins.  The First place winner will receive a $250 gift certificate to the Green Home Experts Eco-Garden Center.  All contestants will receive a prize commemorating their very first garden season.

Entries to the contest will be accepted starting opening day of the Green Home Experts Eco-Garden Center on May 5th.  To enter contestants need to:

1.   Establish a Pinterest site.  If contestants need an invitation to Pinterest, contact GHE for an invitation.
2.   Once their site is up, email GHE at gogreen@ghexperts.com with subject:  GHE Beginner Gardener Contest, include their name, and email address used to register on Pinterest.
3.   GHE will set up a GHE Pinterest contest board for each contestant on GHE’s Pinterest site – pinterest.com/ghexperts.   Contestants will receive an email confirmation.
4.   Contestants will be able to pin their photos directly to their designated GHE contest board throughout the season.
5.   Contestants should encourage family and friends to view and “like” their pins.
6.   To be eligible, contestants must be starting their first garden, must work the garden themselves, and have purchased their garden goods from Green Home Experts.
7.   Contest entries will be accepted until May 19th.  After that date, no new contestants will be admitted.
8.   At 5 pm on September 30th, the contest will be closed.  Contestant with the most “likes” on their GHE Pinterest contest board will receive a $250 gift certificate for the Green Home Experts Eco-Garden Center.
