Jacksonville, Florida's 121 Financial Credit Union Celebrates National Credit Union Youth Week

April 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Jacksonville, Fla. – National Credit Union Youth Week is April 22 and 121 Financial Credit Union is conducting a series of activities to encourage young people to be more aware of their finances and to start saving at an early age, reported William Braddock, CEO of 121 Financial.
   To encourage active participation by children during the week, each 121 Financial branch will hold a drawing for a bicycle. There are no requirements for the kids to enter the drawings and a total of eight bicycles will be given away.
   Also, representatives at each branch will be available to talk with kids about the importance of saving and how the credit union can help them learn and earn money through long-term financial strategy with a 121 Youth account.
   And 121 Financial has a special Youth Financial Workbook that helps young customers identify their savings goals and outline the best way to obtain those goals. The workbooks are free and are available at any 121 Financial branch.
   Gail Lewis, Director of Consumer Lending for 121 Financial, appeared on WJXT-TV The Morning Show’s 4 Your Money segment to outline savings programs for young people.
   “In today’s world, it’s never too early to learn about taking care of your finances and how you should be saving for the future,” Braddock explained. “That’s why we are doing our part to educate today’s youth during National Credit Union Youth Week.”
