Front Row Monthly (FRM) is a digital magazine that offers readers a unique experience by providing a modern blend of fashion, art, music and news. FRM’s style is contemporary, fresh and visually stimulating. The magazine offers readers a front-row ticket to the most relevant happenings in fashion, entertainment and social issues. FRM is based in Pittsburgh, but has correspondents placed worldwide and is currently being read in more than 50 countries, spanning 6 continents.
FRM readers are male and female urban professionals between 18 and 35 years of age who are forward thinking, creative individuals. They are broad-minded in their desire for both style and cultural content, as well as information covering social, political and environmental issues.
Founder Gina Hussar drew inspiration for FRM from the salons of Paris in the 17th and 18th centuries, where like-minded, innovative people gathered to share their knowledge and passions through lively—and sometimes heated—conversation.
“It seemed that every person I shared my idea with was brimming with talent, had something to say and was hungry for a platform on which to say it,” says Ms. Hussar. “These were professionals in several industries; people who were itching to share their expertise on style and fashion and beauty, others who were publishing uproariously funny Op Eds and still others who felt passionate about spreading the word on social issues and human interest stories. Several meetings and tons of Chinese take-out later… we had a magazine.”
Ms. Hussar believes there is a global movement happening for both men and women. “Collectively, we have come to want and expect more from life. We live in a time where it’s cool to be brilliant and stylish. We want to know what’s going on in the clubs, on the catwalk and in the political arena. We are embracing the parts of us that want to know what’s new in luxury items and the parts of us that care deeply about society and where it’s headed. We set ourselves apart from other publications by offering content that is relevant to our readers’ adventurous, many-sided lives. FRM was built by passionate, enthusiastic, intelligent young professionals who have a keen understanding of our target audience because we are the target audience.”
