| Adelphi University Elects Jeffrey Bolton’61 to its Board of TrusteesAdelphi University has elected Jeffrey Bolton ’61 as the newest member of the Board of Trustees. He is to serve on the Academic Affairs Committee, Finance and Administration Committee and Investment Committee.
Mr. Bolton is a managing director of Neuberger Berman, a national investment management firm and responsible for the Bolton group which manages more than $5 billion for individual and institutional clients. Mr. Bolton began his investment career at Merrill Lynch in 1964, spent nine years at Oppenheimer and Company, and was a partner at Furman Selz, then Hambrecht & Quist, before joining Neuberger Berman in 1987, becoming a partner there in 1995. He received his Bachelor of Arts in English at Adelphi University and pursued his graduate studies at New York University. Mr. Bolton started his first career in the performing arts at eleven years old, appearing on Milton Berle’s Texaco Star Theater in 1950. He was an understudy in the Broadway productions of Maxwell Anderson’s “Barefoot in Athens” and “The Climate of Eden” directed by Moss Hart. After many years of summer stock, more than 60 television appearances, stints at Tamiment and Green Mansions, and 20 weeks as the production dancer at the Copacabana, he joined the original Broadway cast of Gypsy with Ethel Merman. He played the juvenile lead as Tulsa both in New York and on the national tour. In 1995, he became a trustee for the Actor’s Fund and currently serves on the Executive Committee as the Chair of Fundraising. Mr. Bolton is married to Tina Faye, a former Broadway dancer presently active at Career Transitions for Dancers.
