Goblins Are Real, We Have Met Them!

April 2, 2012 - PRLog -- No, we have not lost our marbles.

And yes, we do stand our ground on this issue: goblins ARE real and we have actually MET them.

Of course, we are not talking about living-and-breathing goblins but rather their geological counterparts. This particular colony dwells deep in the woods about 90 minutes northwest of Albuquerque, NM and survey the forest from their spot 300 feet up a canyon wall.

The hike leading up to the colony is a fairly accessible one however the climb up the canyon wall to the ridge above the colony is more challenging: you will gain 300 hundred feet of elevation in a little over 0.2 mile.  The trek up is well worth the effort as the view from the ridge top is quite breathtaking. From there, you have two options: walk along the edge of the ridge to the far northwest end of the canyon then descend back to the canyon floor or return to your starting point via a rutted forest road on the other side of the ridge.

All in all, a beautiful and unusual time in one New Mexico's most beautiful counties.
