Mount Vernon, Va. Native, Dana Bailey Joins Occasionally Cake In Alexandria, Va.

March 16, 2012 - PRLog -- Occasionally Cake of Alexandria, Va. recently hired Mount Vernon, Va. native, Dana Bailey, 29, as a manager-in-training and a baker. Her favorite cup cake invention is Banana’s Foster, made with banana cake dipped in dulce de leche with rum butter cream icing and sprinkled with brown sugar. Bailey is a recent graduate of Stratford University in Woodbridge, Va. with a degree in baking and pastry. Although she spent the past 10 years working in government administration, Bailey knew her ‘calling’ was to be in the kitchen creating and designing cakes. When she’s not whipping up a new cupcake flavor, she enjoys reading and listening to music.

“I enjoy the creative side of baking cakes, and inventing new cupcake flavors,” said Dana Bailey of Occasionally Cake in Alexandria, Va.  “I also love to see customers’ smiles when they see the finished cake,” said Bailey.  

The Alexandria cake boutique offers more than 100 cake and gourmet cup cake flavors. Occasionally Cake is also renowned for their cake truffles. Instead of discarding leftover cake, it became the centerpiece of their cake truffles, and then dipped in Belgian chocolate.

Pricing for cakes vary, but generally, wedding cakes are priced per serving and begin at $6.50 a serving. Occasionally Cake is open Tuesday through Saturday, from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.
