If the word paraben is totally new to you, it’s something people are starting to avoid by investing in organic cosmetics opposed to ones filled with potentially harmful chemicals.

Not only are the compounds named parabens found as preservatives in cosmetics, but also in food and other pharmaceutical products. The reason why people are against their use is due their potentially dangerous effect. Parabens have been linked in a study to breast cancer. Parabens have the ability to mimic the female hormone estrogen and parabens have been found in breast cancer tissue.

Personally I find this extremely scary, and besides, why use this product in it’s potentially harmful when there are much better alternatives out there?
