Davy Jones of Monkees Fame Dies at age 66 (30 December 1945 – 29 February 2012)
Jones publicist, Helen Kensick, confirmed that Jones died of a heart attack near his home in Indiantown. Jones complained of breathing troubles Wednesday morning and was taken to a hospital where he was pronounced dead.
After leaving England to appear on the Ed Sullivan show with the cast of Oliver, Jones was cast in The Monkees, a comedy show inspired by the Beatles. The Monkees, Micky Dolenz, Michael Nesmith and Peter Tork formed in 1966 and topped the charts with"I'm A Believer" in 1967 they eventually went on a nationwide tour as a band and had hits like "Last Train to Clarksville,"
